Imagine It's 2030

I recently had the opportunity to facilitate a workshop with the leadership team of the Junior League of Lexington. I left feeling truly inspired.

In one of the exercises, I invited them to consider limitless possibilities. The prompt was simple:  “Imagine it’s 2030 and the League is thriving. What’s happening?”

The answers were bold, hopeful, creative, and deeply rooted in the organization's purpose.

Which got me thinking: How would people answer this question about themselves?

We spend so much time planning the next week, the next quarter, the next fire drill… but rarely the next version of ourselves.

So let me offer you the same prompt: Imagine it’s 2030 and you’re thriving. What’s unfolding in your world?

Maybe it’s a career shift that finally aligns with your values.

Maybe it’s energy instead of exhaustion.

Maybe it’s deeper confidence, better boundaries, or more joy.

Whatever comes up first, there’s wisdom in it. I invite you to consider what’s behind your immediate response, as well as what’s holding you back. Exploring your intuition is the first step in shaping your vision for your life in five years.

This is the season for reflection and intention-setting, so give yourself space to think expansively. The future doesn’t magically appear; it’s created.

If reading this sparked even a flicker of possibility for your own 2030, I’d love to help you explore it. Whether through 1:1 coaching, a small-group experience, or a customized workshop for your team or organization, there are so many ways to get the support you need to move from imagining to becoming.

If you’re curious, reply to this email and let’s talk about what thriving could look like for you.

Brain Food

Four out of five full-time workers experience the dreaded “Sunday scaries.” According to a recent Fast Company piece, those who go into the office report more frequent pre-week anxiety than their remote counterparts. Many face burnout, heavy workloads and sleepless nights as a result.

If this resonates, ask yourself what would be possible if you treated that signal not as an inevitable Monday blues, but as a cue to redesign your work, your habits and your future?

Real Talk

“Why do you give your best to work and leave us with the leftovers?” When Brian Neal asked me this about 10 years ago, it was a dagger through my heart and a self-inflicted wound. This holiday season — hopefully a time of reflection, rest and gratitude — I invite you to relinquish burnout as a badge of honor. Regardless of your career, consider these tips for quieting your inner critic, setting clearer boundaries, and reclaiming your energy and creativity.
